Who qualifies
- Teaching staff of an accredited university or college, for their courses
- Researchers, for non-commercial research whose results are free to publish
- Postgraduate and undergraduate students, for their studies and dissertations
The academic licence is not for consulting, commercial research, or work paid for or directed by a company, even if you are also at a university. For those, an evaluation or a paid licence applies.

Fill in the form
Tell us your institution, department and role, the course you teach or take or your research, and a university email address where we can reach you.
We check and approve
We confirm your details with the university email address, usually within a few working days. Your account page shows the status, and the app picks up the academic licence the next time you sign in.
